Why are we standing around, let's get building already!

The Build

Things I liked:

• Technic frame, yes I love Lego Technic!
• Original Classic Space inspired tiles!
• Very interesting building techniques for the angles of the wings.
• New airlock between the cabin and cargo bay.
• Retractable landing gear.
• The space men can sit or sleep without taking off their air tanks!
• No stickers!

Nostalgic touches

• The box has 1979 inspired graphics and look.
• Original Classic Spacemen in red and white.
• Same play features as the original.
• Printed tiles with original Classic Space logos, and features.
• Internal construction bricks only uses colours available in 1979.
• The model number 10497 includes the original US model number 497.
• Original LL 928 callsign on the side of the ship.
• Lego released instructions to build not only the Galaxy Explorer but also the updated versions of the 924 Space Cruiser, and 918 Space Transport

Finished build

The finished build is about 30% larger than the original 928 Galaxy Explorer.

Just go and buy one... or two... hmmm maybe three 😎
